Govt initiatives will definitely bear fruit: Dingo

Maintaining that the government has been taking up various public welfare programmes considering the problems faced by the people in the wake of communal violence and to stabilise the state' economy, social welfare minister H Dingo has stated that the people will see fruition of the programmes gradually.
Speaking during the campaign on "Rebuilding Economy through Agriculture Activities - Phase 1'' organised by Department of Agriculture, and Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation at Khurkhul Mayai Leikai community hall on Friday, minister Dingo noted with regret that the ethnic violence since May 3 last has not only caused miseries and sufferings to the people but has also adversely affected the economy of the state to a large extent.
In order to lessen impact of the distressful situation and to improve the economy, the people have huge roles and responsibilities, he opined.
Dingo also said that under the initiative of chief minister N Biren the state government has been taking up specific measures to protect the future generation of the society in addition reducing the problems and issues faced by the public.
Minister Dingo went on to state that under the joint effort of various departments of the state government, activities to improve economy of the state are being taken up with emphasis on the agriculture sector.
Such efforts will continue in all parts of the state, he said.
The function was also attended by officials of departments of agriculture, horticulture and science conservation, veterinary and animal husbandry, water resource, minor irrigation, as well as CADA, CAU, ICAR, IFM and AMPFA.
