5 KCP (MTF) cadres arrested, arms and ammo recovered

Two active members of KCP-Military Task Force (MTF) were arrested along with arms and ammunition by a combined team of Andro police and Imphal East district police commando during cordon and search operation conducted at Yairipok Yambem and Changamdabi villages on Friday.
The arrested KCP (MTC) cadres have been identified as Singam Kabikanta Singh (31) s/o Biren Singh of Thou bal Wangkhem Mamang Leikai, Ngangom Tangba Meitei (30) s/o late Ng Ingocha of Sekta Mayai Leikai, Sadokpam Nongpoknganba Singh (22) s/o Kouremba Singh of Yairipok Phangjakhong, Konsam Anao Singh (26) s/o K Thoiba Singh of Mayang Imphal Thana Mamang Leikai and Md Lli-yas Khan (30) s/o Md Waris Khan of Yairipok Changamdabi Makha Leikai.
According to police report, the combined team led by Imphal East police commando OC Kh Henery rounded up the five KCP (MTC) cadres from near Yairipok Changamdabi Primary School during search es conducted from 12:10 pm to 1:15 pm at Yairipok Yambem and Changamdabi villages.
During questioning, the arrestees revealed that they were involved in extorting money from public, government officials and businessmen.
The combined team also recovered six magazines v ith live rounds, one 3.2mm Pistol, four .38 live ammunition, six AK rifle ammunition, 12 rounds of INSAS, 20 rounds of 7.62 SLR, three ammunition charger clips of 7.62 SLR, five mobile phone handsets, one Pistol holder, three combat dresses and one scarf, four jungle boots, one bullet proof jacket, two wallets, two belts, Rs 2090 in cash and a numberless Hyundai Car (i10).All the five arrested cadres have been handed over to Andro police station for further legal action.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Bishnupur district police and 32 battalion CRPF conducted combing operation at Patel bazaar under Loktak Police Station from around 7:30 am on Friday during which 70 houses were searched and 180 people verified.
However, there is no report of any arrest made and recovery of arms/ammunition.
On the other hand, Kakching district police conducted search operation in Keirak Kangjeibung Leikai area from 6 am to 7 am during which' 40 houses were searched and verifications of 85 individuals conducted.
But no arrest was made or arms/ammunition recovered.
