Jiribam DC inspects polling stations

Jiribam, March 21 2024:
Jiribam deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar along with Jiribam superintendent of police A Ghanashyam Sharma, additional deputy commissioner Th Manoranjan Singh and ZEO Thoudam Amurashi Chanu inspected polling stations in the district on Thursday ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
Speaking to media persons during the inspection, the DC informed that the inspection was conducted following direction of the ECI and CEO Manipur.
So far, physical inspection of around 9-10 polling stations have been carried out, he said.
The DC further said that the inspection was conducted to ensure that the polling stations are in good conditions and that the polls on April 26 are conducted in a smooth manner.
While visiting, Krishna Kumar said, his team is also checking the assured minimum facilities like provision of ramps for PwD voters.
He said, the team is also checking the electricity provision, toilets and conditions of rooms where the votes will be cast.
He said that the team also interacted with all officials concerned like the BDOs, and headmasters and principals of schools, and further sought cooperation of all concerned for the smooth conduct of the election.
