Sit-ins denounce NIA action

Extending solidarity to the protest launched by Indigenous People's Organisation Manipur (IPOM) demanding unconditional release of the three members of the Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) by the NIA, sit-in protests were stated at different locations on Thursday.
As announced by IPOM regarding the series of protest from March 17 till 21, sit-in protests were staged in the valley districts.
The protests were held at Yurembam community hall, Awang Khunou Lamkhai, Salam Kangjeibung, Brilliant Club Uripok, Langol Game Village, Keishamthong Yumjao Lairembi, Wangoi Makha Leikai community hall, Khoyathong Pukhri Mapal, Langthabal Phuramakhong, Chajing Keithel, Takyel Khongbal Mayai Leikai, Keishamthong Keithel, Loitang and at Peace & Unity club ground Lamsang Mayai Leikai.
Sit-in protest was also staged at Wabagai Hiyanglam Lamkhai Keithel by womenfolk on Thursday against the arrest of three cadres of Pambei-led UNLF, which is in peace talk with the central government and to demand their immediate unconditional release.
During the sit-in organised by Yelhoumee Kanba Lup, Wabagai Hiyanglam Keirak, the protesters held placards and chanted slogans demanding unconditional release of the arrested members of Pambei-led UNLF, condemning the NIA for undermining the peace agreement sign, etc.
In Thoubal district, tprch rallies were taken out against arrest of the three Pambei-led members including its self-styled chief of army by NIA on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Meitei Community Joint Co-ordinating Committee, a joint body of 18 clubs of Waithou, Kiyam, Kiyam Siphai, Haokha and Thoubal Khunou, organised a torch rally-cum-human chain formation along the Waithou to Haokha section of NH102 on Wednesday against the arrest by NIA.
