Entrepreneurship development programme begins

A 3-Days "Entrepreneurship Development Programme on Production, Processing and Value Addition of Economically Important Crops of NEH Region" kicked off today at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat The training programme was organised by Agriculture Business Incubation (ABI), ICAR Manipur Centre in association with Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri, Imphal which is a Service Provider under MOVCDNER-Phase III, said a release.
The inaugural programme was graced by Md Zakir Hussain Khan, Joint Director, Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation and Mission Director, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH); Kh Nimaichand Singh, Project Officer, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Agriculture; Donald Soubam, Deputy Director, Department of Horticulture& Soil Conservation; Kanmi Dominic, Director DSSS, Mantripukhri; Dr Ramgopal Laha, Head, ICAR Manipur Centre; Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer Seed, ICAR Manipur Centre and Dr Kh Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist, Course Director as presidium members.
The entrepreneurship development programme was conducted with the objective to impart knowledge and skill on production, processing, packaging and management of economically important crops of NEH Region.
Food processing, apiculture, vermicompost, packaging and azolla production are major components of the training programme.
It was participated by members and representatives of 12 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) promoted by DSSS, Mantripukhri.
