National conference on chemical sciences organised

Manipur University Chemistry Alumni Association and MU Department of Chemistry organised 2nd National Conference on 'Emerging Challenges in the Frontiers of Chemical Sciences-2024' at Department of Chemistry seminar hall on Thursday.
The opening function of the conference was attended by MU vice chancellor professor N Lokendro as chief guest, Department of Chemistry head professor N Rajen Singh as president and School of Mathematical Sciences dean professor Sumitra Phanjoubam as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, conference's convener Dr RK Sunil informed that the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which aims to make India a developed country by 2047 is not only aiding better teaching of general chemistry or chemical science but also encouraging innovation and practical skills.
He also mentioned that the conference is being participated by scientists from reputed institutes such as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (USER), Indian Institute Of Chemical Technology (IICT), etc., as resource persons along with researchers from Italy, Japan and Uganda.
Dr Sunil further conveyed that the conference will have presentation of papers and discussions on topics related to biological chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, inorganic and coordination chemistry, physical chemistry, radiochemistry, spectroscopy, theoretical and computational chemistry, environmental chemistry and chemistry.
