Scribes, others provide assistance to relief camps

Imphal, June 23 2023:
Wide Angle Social De-velopment along with All Mani-pur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) on Friday distributed essential materials including edibles, drinking water and sanitary pads to Ideal Girls College relief camp, Akampat in Imphal East district.
Speaking on the side-lines, AMWJU president Bijoy Kakch-ingtabam hailed initiatives of Wide Angle Social Development for providing essential items to the displaced people.
Stating that the materials have been distributed to show solidarity and share the grievances of the violence-hit people, the president prayed for peace and normalcy at the earliest.
According to Wide Angle secretary Montu Ahanthem, as many as 720 displaced people from Moreh and Churachan-dpur are taking refuge at the relief camp.
The relief materials were donated by Sakai Social Foundation under the initiative of Dhani Type Writing Insti-tute Dr Marconi, the secretary said, adding that it has so far provided assistance to relief camps set up at Maklang, New Keithelmanbi, Konthoujam, Yangangpokpi and Phayeng.
On the other hand, United Development Club, Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup and Sadok-pam Leikai Singlup provided monetary assistance to volun-teers guarding Phayeng village while Peace Committee Lilong (PCL) provided monetary assis-tance to one Phundreimayum Mustafa (11) who is undergoing treatment following bullet inju-ries suffered in a firing incident on June 15.The Committee also provided monetary assistance to Khulakpam Alfaz, Singama-yum Albas and Md Yunus who were wounded in the Kwakta bomb blast on June 21 and are undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Manipur Students for Seva team also provided stationary items to displaced students taking refuge in re-lief camps at Thangjing guest house, Moirang Konjengbam, Moirang College, Laisoi, Shri-bon, !thing and Thangjing Sin-dam Shang.
