As a part of the ongoing series of mass rally and public discussion on the topic 'No separate administration in Manipur', a public meeting was held today on the same topic at Wangoo Lamkhai, Wangjing Khunou.
AMAWOVA advisor Ch Usharani, COCOMI member Second, AMUCO ex-president Ito Tongbram, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president L Memchoubi, COHR chairman Phulindro Konsam and many other CSO leaders spoke at the public meeting which was organised by the Clubs and Meira Paibis of Wangjing Khunou.
The meeting was attended by people from Kakching Khunou, Thongam, Pangal Tabi, Wangjing Khunou, Wangoo Mamang Taba, Wangoo Nungai, Wangoo Sabam, Wangoo Tera, Wangoo Laipha, Wangoo Chuthek Leikai, Wangoo Heinoujang, Wangoo Warukok, Kumbi Bazar, Chairen, Nungwoo, Tangjeng, Chandonpokpi, Chairen Mangjin, Leingang Tabi Awang Leikai, Wapokpi, Khordak Tabi, Tangjeng Khunou and Tangjeng Khunjao.
The meeting deliberated on unification of all the people and fighting all the challenges to the integrity of Manipur collectively, conveyed a press release issued by the AMUCO.
Establishment of village guards by mobilising villagers, particularly youth in order to fight the aggression by Kuki terrorists was another agenda of the meeting.
Categorically saying that no community or ethnic group should challenge the integrity of Manipur, the meeting resolved to fight and defeat all forces which dare threaten the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary.
Rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced people, creation of a secure environment for all civilians and putting an end to militarisation of Manipur were some other agenda which figured prominently at the meeting.
Categorically saying that there should not be any separate administration within Manipur, the meeting resolved to urge the Government of India to stop playing communal card, withdraw SoO immediately and flush out Kuki terrorists from Manipur.
