The Forum for Restoration of Peace Manipur has vehemently condemned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the present unrest in Manipur which has led to irreparable loss of many innocent lives and properties.
Speaking to media persons today at Manipur Press Club, Ashang Kasar, convenor Forum for Restoration of Peace, shared that Forum strongly condemns the cold shoulder shown to the people of Manipur by the PM during this ongoing conflict.
He asserted that the PM has chosen to remain a mute spectator to all the chaos in the State since the conflict began on May 3 last and ignore the cries of thousands of innocent people.
"The people of Manipur should now know that the PM only wants votes for his party and is not even ready to shed crocodile's tears for Manipur", he added.

He also questioned where are all the Union Ministers and Central Leaders who used to visit Manipur almost every month during election time when the people of the State are suffering due the present unrest.
Ashang continued that the Prime Minister was quick to expressed sorrow over the deaths in Sikkim by an avalanche and even rushed to Odisha to console the death due to a train accident but he has completely ignored the ongoing conflict in Manipur which has left thousands of people displaced.
Expressing anguish and disappointment over the way people of Manipur have been treated by the PM, he asserted that the question in everyone's mind now is whether the PM considers Manipur as a part of the country and the people of the State as citizens of India.
He also mentioned that it is high time for the MLAs of the State to stop bowing their heads to Delhi and holding on to their chairs.
"All the MLAs and public leaders should set aside their vested interest and think what is best for the people of Manipur.
They should come together to work out a solution to restore peace and protect the State", he added.
