Meitei Pangals call for peace

Imphal, June 23 2023:
With a call for peace and safeguard of State's integrity, Muslims of Mayang Imphal and Hiyanglam Constituencies staged a sit-in protest at Konuma, today.
The protest demonstration was organised by All Konuma Both Sides Development Committee.
Speaking to media persons, convenor of the Committee Md Nasimuddin said that precious lives and properties have been lost while many others have been injured due to the violent clash between two sections of people since May 3 .
He appealed to the Centre and Manipur Government to find a solution to end the violence in Manipur.
Md Nasimuddin also appealed to all Muslims in Manipur to not hold any celebratory functions during Eid-Ul-Fitr other than religious programmes.
Finance secretary of the Committee Chesabam Achouba said that Manipur should not be disintegrated under any circumstances.
Urging the Centre and the State Government to not play divide and rule policy in the State, he said that the situation in the State has affected all communities though the conflict is between Meeteis and Kukis.
Saying that Meitei Pangals will not remain silent if there is threat to the unity and integrity of the State, Achouba said that Meitei Pangals are different from other Muslims living across the world.
