Folk dance training begins, Thang-Ta Day observed

Imphal, March 11 2024:
Royal Artiste Academy for Cultural Heritage (RAACH) commenced a 22-day 'Training cum Production on Manipur Folk Dance' at Top Siphai community hall on Sunday.
In a release, RAACH secretary T Tekchamba Meetei informed that the training programme is being conducted with sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, under the Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme (CFPGS) .
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Moirang College retired principal Kh Jugindro Singh as chief guest, RAACH president L Tombi Devi as president and Thongkhong Luxmi Municipal Council former ward member Th Shyamjai Singh as guest of honour.
On the other-hand, World Thang-Ta Day 2024 was jointly observed by Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom; Huyel Langion Thang-Ta Association, Manipur; World Thang-Ta Federation (WTTF); and Thang-Ta Federation of India at Yumnam Huidrom on Monday.
The observance was attended by Thang-Ta Federation of India former secretary Thounaojam Priyokumar Singh as chief guest and WTTF president Huidrom Premku-mar Singh as president, while Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee & PAHULASHI, Mayaikoibi principal Moirangthem Rajen Meetei, Huyel Langion Thang-Ta Association secretary Heikrujam Cha Babu and Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Khurai Sajor Leikai secretary Nongthombam Noren Meetei were present as guests of honour.
Many Thang-Ta players, instructors and coaches from different institutions took part in the observance marked by paying floral tributes to chief instructor (Sintakpurel) RK Sanahal.
