Assessment camp conducted; JNGVO hails CM

Kakching, March 11 2024:
Kakching district social welfare officer, Nikita Thangjam along with her staff members conducted a physical assessment camp for differently-abled persons at JnNURM hall, Kakching Sumak Leikai on Monday.
During the camp, total of 106 differently-abled persons including three people with multiple disabilities, 19 hearing impairment, 13 visual impairment, 22 intellectual disability, 12 mental illness and 12 locomotor disability, were identified.
Medical teams of CMO, Kakching and CMO, Thoubal also helped in the smooth conduct of the assessment camp.
According to DSWO Nikita, the assessment camp has been conducted to identify and provide disability certificate and unique ID card under UDID project in respect of Kakching district.
Meanwhile, Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching lauded chief minister N Biren for opening District Transport Office, Kakching.
In a release, JNGVO said that the organisation has been exerting pressure on the government for setting up of a District Transport Office for Kakching district.
During the announcement made by CM Biren for opening of five DTOs on Monday, the Kakching office was also included, it acknowledged and conveyed gratitude to the CM for honouring their demand.
