Bishnupur, March 11 2024:
Toubul High School Pioneer Committee representatives on Monday inspected the High School and drew the attention of state and union governments to include the school in the list of School Phagathansi Mission.
According to secretary Th Ningthemani, the Committee formed in 2023 to look after needs of students and school infrastructure, undertook various measures resulting in increase of students' strength from 25 in previous year to 155 at present.
Informing that the Committee in collaboration with the School Management Committee and Development Committee hired four teachers for proper learning of the students, he, however, lamented that the school is still deprived of primary teacher and basic infrastructure such as boundary fencing and toilet facility.
If the government could ensure proper infrastructure and facilities, the school will definitely produce meritorious students, he claimed.
Further stating that wards of Committee members, who were earlier studying in private schools are now admitted to Toubal High School, he urged authorities concerned to address shortages besetting the government school considering the fact main sources of livelihood of Toubul villages are involved in manual works and selling vegetable.
As such, the secretary pointed out realisation of the government's objective to promote quality education will depend on provision of basic infrastructure.
