After of the first phase of polling for the 18th Lok Sabha elections which was held on April 19, political landscape in Manipur's Outer Parliamentary constituency saw a surge of activities as Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang took to the campaign trail in support of Kachui Timothy Zimik, Naga People's Front (NPF)/NDA candidate.
The campaign event was held at the bustling Raisung Ground in Maram Bazaar, Senapati district, drawing a diverse crowd of supporters and political enthusiasts.
NPF state president and water resources minister Awangbow Newmai set the tone for the event with a warm welcome, acknowledging the successful completion of the first phase of elections spanning 15 assembly constituencies.
He stressed the paramount importance of unity among the electorate, underscoring that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is not just about victory or defeat but about showcasing the collective strength and resolve of the people.

He emphasised the imperative of addressing unemployment and social challenges plaguing Manipur, highlighting the need for robust initiatives to provide quality education and sustainable livelihoods for the youth.
In a passionate plea, Zimik urged the younger generation to shun the scourge of substance abuse and instead embrace innovative farming practices and entrepreneurial ventures to harness the untapped economic potential of the region.
Apong Pongener, president of NPF central, expressed gratitude for the support extended by the NDA government and the chief ministers of the northeastern states towards NPF.
He underscored the party's unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural identity and political autonomy of the Naga community, which has been the cornerstone of its existence since inception.
He lauded the NPFs role as a vanguard of Naga interests, advocating tirelessly for their rights and aspirations on various platforms.
Nagaland's Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang lent his voice to the campaign, emphasising the pivotal role of NPF as the principal regional platform championing the cause of Nagas in Manipur.
Zeliang called upon the electors to repose their trust on NPF for a peaceful resolution of the longstanding Indo-Naga political imbroglio and concerted efforts towards holistic progress and development.
Reflecting on the party's journey, Zeliang recounted the myriad challenges encountered along the way, underscoring its resilience and unwavering commitment to the Naga cause.
