Imphal, November 05 2023:
Khundrakpam Kendra Youth's Organisation (KHUNKYO) has demanded the government of Manipur to ban "Manipur Files", a bilingual narration in Bengali and English by Bengali Daily "Bartalipi" (Silchar, Assam) executive editor Pranabananda Das, which was written with the objective to whitewash the conflict perpetrated in Manipur by Chin-Kuki terrorists in collusion with other terrorists from outside India.
In a press release, KHUNKYO alleged that Pranabananda Das has always been prejudiced of Manipuri society.
He has always been hypercritical of any activity of Manipuri society held in Cachar.
Recently, he published "Manipur Files", an extremely biased book on the Manipur conflict and selling the same via Amazon Business.
If no action is taken up in this regard, the whole world will view the Meetei community in bad light.
The press release continued that Pranabananda wrote the book without even making an attempt to understand the real story behind the violence perpetrated by Chin-Kuki-Zo narco-terrorists.
Even if he was aware of the real story behind the conflict, he would have still written the book because of his prejudice towards the indigenous Meetei society, showcasing his one-sided views.
Earlier, Editors' Guild of India (EGI) published a similar one-sided report on the on-going conflict with an attempt to smear the Meetei community.
However, the report backfired and the matter even reached the Supreme Court, KHUNKYO recalled, while appealing to the government to take serious note of the book, "Manipur Files" and ban it in accordance with law of the land.
