Aid extension continues

The Managing Committee of New Era Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Okram Wangmataba has extended humanitarian aid to the conflict survivors taking refuge at Laphupat Tera High School Relief Camp.
Led by Founder Chairman N Ojit and Principal Thongam Kumar, the school team donated 71 mattresses and essential commodities such as onions, potatoes, lentils and cooking oil to the 106 survivors who have fled from their homes in Churachandpur, Torbung Bangla, Saiton, Sugnu, Wapokpi, Khoijuman Tabi, Serou, Wangu Sabal and Kumbi Terakhong.
In addition, the team also donated a sum of Rs 10,000 to purchase notebooks for the forty young students living in the relief camp.

Speaking in this connection, N Ojit said that the team decided to provide mattresses to the survivors upon learning from a news report that many elderly people in the camp are sleeping without mattresses even as the cold winter is approaching.
Encouraging the young kids at the relief camp to not lose hope, he urged them to study hard to fulfill their parents' dreams.
Meanwhile, Ningthoujam Kumar, Convenor, Managing Committee of Relief Camp and Headmaster of New Era Higher Secondary School expressed his gratitude towards the team for their generous donation.
Moirangthem Ashok Kumar, vice-principal, New Era Higher Secondary School; Ningombam Ongbi Kamalini Devi, treasurer and other teaching and non-teaching staff were part of the relief extension team.
Separately, former Chief Secretary Oinam Nabakishore, retd IAS has distributed relief materials to the conflict survivors at Oinam Higher Secondary School Relief Camp."As per a statement, the relief extension effort was carried out by the former Chief Secretary with the assistance of the IAS Batch 1984.The relief items include exercise books, pen, pencils, colouring materials, women's shawls, shirts, undergarments, detergent, mosquito coils, soaps, toothbrush etc among others.
