Asem Hemochandra promoted as SSB DIG; SSIAA commends

Asem Hemochandra has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
Hemochandra, who hails from Thoubal Awang Leikai, is the third son of late Asem Nityai and Angoubi Devi.
He is an alumnus of Sainik School, Imphal, 11th Batch.
Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association (SSIAA) has extended its hearty congratulation to Hemochandra on his promotion.
In a statement, the association described him a distinguished officer known for his bravery and kindness.
His remarkable achievement in being promoted to the rank of DIG in the SSB is truly commendable, and wish him continuous success, good fortune, and more accolades in all his future endeavours, the statement said.
It further informed that Hemochandra began his journey with SSB as an assistant commandant in 1998 .
He is a distinguished graduate of DM College of Science, Imphal, and holds a postgraduate degree from Nagpur University.
Throughout his professional career, he has taken on various crucial roles, including anti-insurgency, anti-Naxal operations, border security, and internal security duties in different parts of the country.
His service record stands as a testimony to his dedication and excellence.
He has been honoured with the 4th Director General's Disc with Commendation Roll, which ranks as the second highest Disc, recognising his outstanding contributions.
Additionally, he has been decorated with President's Medal for Meritorious Service.
Presently, Hemochandra is in command of an SSB training centre located in Uttar Pradesh.
Beyond his commitment to his profession, Hemochandra possesses a passion for sports and adventure, and has excelled as a national level basketball player and currently takes part in the All India Police Badminton competition.
His active involvement in the activities of the Manipur Basketball Association and Thoubal District Basketball Association underscores his dedication to promoting sports among the youth of Manipur, the statement added.
