Project Assist to support destitute kids

Imphal, December 07 2023:
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur district has issued a notification to inform the public about the implementation of "Project Assist" by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) urging eligible individuals to apply for assistance under the scheme.
This flagship scheme, operational under the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to extend financial assistance to children affected by communal, caste, ethnic, or terrorist violence, supporting their care, education, and training.
Orphaned or destitute children due to communal, caste, ethnic, or terrorist violence (either both parents or the surviving parent or the main breadwinner of the family has died or has become permanently incapacitated), whose families have an annual income not exceeding Rs 2 lakh and not receiving regular assistance from other sources, can apply for assistance under the scheme.
Assistance, is available up to the age of 25 years.
However, if a child fails to progress to the next class for more than three consecutive years, eligibility for continued assistance may be affected, the notification said.
It further informed that interested individuals can obtain the detailed guidelines and application form from Room no 6, 1st Floor, Block-8 Building, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur, during office hours on all working days.
