VVF meet vows to fight threats, spur economy

In a resolute stand against aggression from Kuki militants, the Village Volunteers' Force (WF) in Manipur has announced its unwavering support to central and state forces in combating Chin-Kuki-Zo militants.
The declaration was made by Athokpam Chinglemba, the general secretary of WF's Central Committee, during a public function held at Kumam Mandop in Moirang, Bishnupur district on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, spokesperson of the committee, Jiban Yumnam expressed concern over recent threats directed at WF general secretary Chinglemba by unidentified individuals.
He denounced such actions as unnecessary and urged those responsible to clarify the motives behind such threats, emphasising the bond of brotherhood among the people.
Jiban highlighted the potential economic fallout that Manipur, particularly the Meetei society, could face at the conclusion of the ongoing crisis.
He revealed that the WF has initiated measures to revive the declining economy of the Meeteis, emphasising the organisation's commitment to safeguarding the interests of the community.
The gathering in Bishnupur saw the participation of hundreds of WF members from various parts of the valley.
