Jiribam, December 07 2023:
United Jiri Youth League (UJYL) and Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) have strongly condemned and rejected declaration by Hmar Inpui (apex body of Hmar tribes), general headquarters, Churachandpur that Kuki-Zo-Hmar inhabited areas including Jiribam are land for Kuki-Zo-Hmar tribes.
In a joint release, UJYL secretary Chinglemba Khuman and JDO secretary H Priyananda Singh reminded Hmar Inpui that there is no such place as land for Kuki-Zo-Hmar tribes in the entire state of Manipur and made it clear that Hmar Inpui has no right to instruct or oppose as to where the proposed designated camps of the Pambei-led UNLF, which recently made a peace deal with the government of India, should be established.
While commending the decision taken by the UNLF, the release expressed firm believe that this decision will eventually lead to restoration of peace in the state.
Advising the Hmar Inpui not to interfere with the motive to obstruct the process for restoration of peace through ignorant statements, the joint release also cautioned that the tribal body and all its constituent bodies should accept responsibilities for any untoward incidents arising out of defying the warning.
