Imphal, June 06 2026:
The Office of Member of Parliament Prof Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has invited entries for a debating competition for graduate and post-graduate students to mark the second anniversary of his oath-taking as Lok Sabha MP, Inner Manipur.
The competition aims to encourage critical thinking, democratic engagement, public speaking, and awareness of public issues among youth.
It will be held in two stages: District Preliminary Rounds followed by a Final Round, with separate motions for each.
The Preliminary Round motion addresses whether political parties can curb the use of money and muscle power in elections only when they uphold their principles and responsibilities.
The Final Round motion focuses on whether resisting the Government of India's current approach towards Manipur should be led by a regional party rooted in local interests or a national political party.
Graduate and postgraduate students can participate.
Further details on entry and dates will be notified by the MP's office.
