Many pay respect to Chingtham Anandkumar, Laimayum Prem

A large number of people gathered today at Ibudhou Nongda Lairen Pakhangba Shanglen in Nongsum, Khamenlok, Imphal East district, to pay respect and mourn the demise of Chingtham Anandkumar, SDPO Moreh who was killed while performing his duties in Moreh.
According to a release issued by Thawai Mirel, the condolence meeting held at Ibudhou Nongda Lairen Pakhangba Shanglen was jointly organised by Thawau Mirel and Eramdam Kanba Lup (EKAL), Lamboikhul.
The gathering observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
They also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family during this difficult time.
The gathering also unanimously resolved to demand full authorisation of State forces to carry out their duties efficiently and hand over the command of Unified Command to the Chief minister of Manipur.
Moreover, People Protection Committee (PPC), Konthoujam, has expressed its heartfelt condolences over the untimely demise of Chingtham Anandkumar and Laimayum Prem.
In a release, PPC Konthoujam informed that an Executive Committee Meeting was held to pay respect to the brave hearts who gave their lives for the cause of the motherland.
Members of PPC Konthoujam also observed two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
The meeting also resolved to forgo Ningol Chakkouba celebration this year in view of the prevailing situation of the State.
Notably, Laimayum Prem of Khundrakpam Awang Leikai was one of the many village volunteers who were injured in the Khamenlok incident on June 12 and had been undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
Prem succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
Besides, the Joint Action Co-ordination Committee (JACC), a conglomerate of clubs & Meira Paibis of Lairikyengbam Leikai, Laipham Khunou, Kairang and Kontha Ahallup, has strongly condemned the cold blooded murder of Chingtham Anandkumar.
In a release, JACC informed that Chingtham Anandkumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Moreh was shot dead by a suspected sniper bullet on October 31 while he was overseeing the construction of a helipad at Eastern Shine School ground in Moreh.
While expressing profound grief and sorrow on the demise of the outstanding police officer, members of JACC observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Extending solidarity to the bereaved family, the JACC also urged the Government to apprehend and take appropriate actions against culprits involved in the heinous crime.
