Imphal, November 02 2023:
In consideration of the grievances and hardships faced by the food business operators, the Directorate of Health Services has permitted renewal of expired licenses/registrations, which had expired on May 1 without any penalty, if the concerned food business operators (FBOs) apply for renewal of their expired license/registrations.
In a notification, Health Services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang acknowledged that due to suspension of internet services, the food business operators have not been able to apply for renewal of their food licenses/ registrations as well as to submit the annual returns (for manufacturers and importers) on the Food Safety Compliance System (FoS-CoS) portal of FSSAI since May.
Subsequently, timely application for renewal of licenses/registrations and submission of annual returns by the aggrieved FBOs could not be done which has led to accumulation of late fines/fees, the director noted.
Informing that the last date of submission of annual returns by the FBOs (Licensed Manufacturers and Importers) has been extended to November 15 without any late fee, the director advised parties concerned to file the renewal applications and submit the annual returns on or before the same date to avoid penalty or late fees.
