Humanitarian aid extended, Ayushman Health Mela held

Thongju Apunba Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Bashikhong, continues to extend humanitarian aid to the people injured during the ongoing conflict and internally displaced people (IDP) who are staying at various relief camps across the State.
From October 10 to November 1, 2023, the society has provided financial assistance to help the medical treatment of Manoj of Ngangkhalawai, S Seityam of Keirak Mamang Leikai, L Kishan of Yairipok Angtha and L Memcha of Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai.
Financial aid was also extended to the family of Late L Prem of Khundrakpam Awang Leikai who made the supreme sacrifice during the present conflict.

The society distributed relief materials at the relief camps opened in Phubala, Khordak Nongmaikhong, Pombikhok, Tangjeng Mangjil and Phayeng.
Speaking to media persons, Thongju Apunba Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited vice president Sanasam Omila Devi shared that the humanitarian aid was extended to the IDPs who are staying at various relief camps across the State to provide some relief & alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
She stated that the donations were made with the funds & relief items contributed by the members of the society.
In continuation of its ongoing relief work for village volunteers, the Ram Lal Paul High School 1984 Matric Batch on Thursday distributed blankets and socks to village volunteers camping at Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur district.
Meanwhile, an Ayushman Health Mela cum Special Outreach Health camp was held on October 31 at Khagempalli Pankha Huidrom Leikai community hall.
The camp was organised under the aegis of Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Kwakeithel.
As a part of the health camp, an awareness talk on the importance of routine immunization was conducted with an aim to sensitize the public to follow routine immunization to stay protected from various illnesses.
Around 146 individuals were examined during the health camp by a team of doctors and staff of UPHC Kwakeithel and free medicines were also distributed.
Screening for Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was also done.
The facilities of routine immunization and registration of ABHA ID were provided during the camp.
