37th National Games : Sanatombi, Marshal, Echantombi clinch gold medals in Wushu; L Priyanka wins Taekwondo gold

Manipur added as many as four gold medals and two silver medals across Wushu, Taekwondo and Cycling disciplines as the 37th National Games hosted by Goa entered 8th day.
Wushu players had a bright day out today winning three gold and 1 silver medals with their impeccable performances at the Campal Open Ground Sports Village.
Winning gold medals on this momentous day were Leimapokpam Sanatombi Chanu who excelled in Taijiquan event; Salam Marshal Singh who topped in Qiangshu event and Yumlembam Echantombi Devi in Qiangshu event.
Leimapokpam Naokhomba Meitei in the meantime missed out on the gold medal going down in the Taijiquan event final to settle for the silver medal.

In the meantime, Priyanka Leitanthem struck a gold medal in the women's -62kg category Taekwondo competition.
Cyclist Yanglem Rojit also opened Manipur's account in cycling with a silver medal by finishing second in the 10,000 m individual time trial as he clocked second best 1:03.891 .

Silver medallists : 1.Sanasam Ruban- floor exercise; 2.H Rabikumar, S Hemash, L Tomba and K Abhinash- foil team (fencing) and 3.S Nirupama- Women's Weightlifting 64 kg; 4.Th Priya and H Tendenthoi : Rowing double scull; 5.Th Priya, Tendenthoi, Mayengbam Merina and Thoudam Aruna in rowing quadruple scull; 7.Y Rojit in Individual time trial.
