Training programme on livelihood revival of displaced persons organised

In a bid to promote the livelihood opportunities for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking shelter at relief camps, a one day training programme on 'Prospects of Livelihood Revival of Relief Camp Inmates via Processing, Value Addition and Marketing of Locally Available Medicinal and Aromatic Plants' was held today at Thangalawai Relief Camp.
The training programme was organized by the Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) Technology Centre Imphal in association with Eta, Northeast Women's Network under the aegis of the National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM) Jaipur.
MSME Technology Centre Imphal Deputy Director, Dr Sinam Yoirentomba; Thangalawai Relief Camp organisers O Somorendro and Y Yaiskul; Eta, Northeast Women's Network advisor Ibethoi Chongtham and senior member of the relief camp, Ph Pramo attended as the presidium members of the programme.
In the technical session of the training programme which was attended by more than 70 IDPs taking refuge at different relief camps, Dr Sinam Yoirentomba gave a brief introduction of MSME Technology Centre Imphal and spoke at length on the value addition and marketing of locally available medicinal and aromatic plants for sustainable livelihood.
M/S Lainingthou proprietor L Kishorjit, M/S Rehhal Perfumes proprietor Hussain Choudhury and MSME Technology Centre Imphal team shared their valuable experience in their journey of entrepreneurship and conducted training session on value addition and sustainable income generation through agarbatti stick making and hair oil making and packaging.
