'Cervical Cancer Awareness Month' observed

Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre in association with Maharaja Bodhachandra College organized a cancer awareness, health check up and screening program to observe 'Cervical Cancer Awareness Month' with the students and staff of Maharaja Bodhachandra College in Imphal East District.
The month of January is observed as the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month with an objective to raise awareness about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination, said a statement issued by Karkinos Healthcare Manipur.
The objective of the program was to create awareness about cancer-care, importance of regular health check up, early detection of cancer and prevention among the youth, mainly students of Imphal East district.
It was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff and students of Maharaja Bodhachandra College.
The program included general health check up, oral examination, clinical breast examination, Cervical Screening (HPV) and Risk Assessment (CRA) etc.
Students along with the College staff were also enrolled for ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) cards during the program.
Karkinos Healthcare Manipur also organized a health awareness programme for the students to highlight the importance of proper diet, hygiene, fitness and healthy lifestyle.
A medical team headed by Dr K Rajo Singh, HOD of Anaesthesiology along with Dr Thingujam James as well as W Imo Singh, Operations Manager, RMOs, nurses and dieticians were present.
