MSC/AITUC team leave for Delhi to draw attention of Central leaders on Manipur crisis

Imphal, January 16 2024:
A team of Manipur State Committee, All India Trade Union Congress (MSC/AITUC) left Imphal for New Delhi today to draw the attention of Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Vishwam and other Central leaders on various aspects of the Manipur crisis.
The MSC/AITUC team comprised L Sotinkumar, secretary general, MSC/AITUC; Advocate Kh Shamungou Singh, secretary MSC/AITUC and I Tomba, president, Imphal East District AITUC, according to a press release issued by Kh Bojendro, secretary, MSC/AITUC.
The team will meet Binoy Vishwam who is also the national president of AITUC and deliberate over the Manipur crisis.
They will also attempt to meet the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and submit a memorandum listing seven demands.
These demands include restoration of peace through political dialogue, cessation of war, maintain territorial integrity of Manipur, stopping highway blockade and extortion, deployment of highway protection force among others.
In addition, AITUC members and representatives of Manipur CSOs will stage a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi and distribute leaflets highlighting the seven demands during the strike.
