VVF pledges to safeguard Manipur

Village Volunteers' Force (VVF), Manipur has declared that it will support the Central and State forces in fighting against the Chin-Kuki militants to save Manipur and India.
The declaration was made by the general secretary of VVF, central committee Athokpam Chinglemba during a public function held today at Kumam Mandop, Moirangthem Leikai in Bishnupur.
At the function, Chinglemba recounted the statement of NIA (National Investigation Agency) dated September 30 which pointed at Myanmar and Bangladesh militant groups colluding with a section of militant leaders in the country to drive a wedge between different ethnic groups and wage war against the Government of India.

He further said that one part of the problem of the ongoing violence in Manipur is the migration of foreign Nationals to Manipur as per the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Jiban Yumnam who also attended the function decried the threatening of VVF general secretary Chinglemba recently by some miscreants.
He appealed to those who threatened Chinglemba to clarify the act.
Saying that Manipur, especially the Meitei society will face a grave economic issue after the end of the ongoing crisis, he said that the VVF has started taking certain measures to help put on track the dying economy of the Meiteis.
VVF is a united force of the Meeteis who live in the periphery and remote areas, he said and added that they faced the Kuki aggression with swords and knives in the initial stage of the conflict.
Hundreds of VVF members attended the function.
