TCMDC, YUCC have it easy in MNCA Superplate Tournament

TCMDC and YUCC emerged easy winners in Saturday's group matches of the MNCA Superplate Tournament.
A brilliant bowling display helped TCMDC pull off a commanding six-wicket win over FORCE in their Group A encounter at Cherapur, Thoubal.
TCDMC bundled out FORCE in 15.3 over for a meagre 70 courtesy of a collective bowling effort that saw Suraj Kharibam pick up three wickets as Rain Urikhimbam, Laishram Vevekananda and Huirongbam Babulu did their bit with two wickets apiece, with Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma accounting for one.
Only four of FORCE'S batters got into double figures in their dismal innings.
Khurshru Pravez's 13 was the highest from the rest.
In their response, TCMDC overcame a top-order collapse to overhaul the target in 15.3 overs, losing four wickets in the process.
Huirongbam Babulu (29 not out) and Sarengthem Priy-obrata (13 not out) steadied TCDMC's run chase and guided their side to a six-wicket triumph after opener Ashokumar Maibam (1), No 2 Rain Urikhimbam (4) and Kongbrailatpam Kalyan (8) fell cheaply.
Laishram Vivekananda, who batted in between the Priyobrata-Babulu duo at No 5, managed 10 runs.
Ashokumar was dismissed by Pravez while Rain got trapped lbw by Md Sarif Alam and Vivekananda was out lbw to Mohammad Islauddin.
On the other hand, Kalyan was run out succumbing to Najir Ali's throw.
Suraj Kharibam earned the man of the match trophy for his three-wicket haul.
Group leaders YUCC, meanwhile, beat KCC by three wickets at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
It was their fourth win on the trot.
Electing to bat, KCC were dismissed for 144 in 27.1 overs.
Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang and Kadamjit Moirangthem ripped part KCC's batting lineup, claiming four scalps each as Ningthoujam Sanjit impressed with two wickets.
The main performers in KCC's innings were Ningombam Tony (28), Nongmaithem Dijaraj (27), Wahengbam Somorjit (18) and Nameirakpam Arbin (14).After their fine bowling performance, YUCC took 29.4 overs to achieve the target with three wickets to spare.
Ningthoujam Thoiba led the run chase with 53 off 67 balls.
YUCC's successful chase also saw helpful contributions from Ningthouja Rohit (22), Ningthoujam Sanjit (18) and Kadamjit Moirangthem (17).Kadamjit Moirangthem, who took four wickets and contributed 17 runs, was adjudged the man of the match.
