PTCC, SHADOW emerge victorious in 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

PTCC, Patsoi Part III and SHADOW, Thangmeiband posted wins in today's matches of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
In a group A match staged at PTRC Ground, PTCC defeated PTRC by 4 wickets in a high scoring encounter.
Put in to bat first at their own field, PTRC racked up a huge total of 220 runs for 8 wickets in 30 overs courtesy an unbeaten half century by Bedabiyas Pheiroijam (57) and 84 extras but PTCC chased down the target in 27.5 overs with a quickfire 79 from Roneljit Ayekpam and sensible batting performances from Somobanta (35) and Daniel (25 not out) .

Ngambarel Naoshekpam (28) and Venson Yumnam (29) made valuable contributions in PTRC's innings which saw PTCC's Harishor Mayengbam struck three highest wickets (3/18) and four of his teammates shared a wicket each.
In the chase, PTCC had a stuttering start and were reduced to 28 for 4 in 2.2 overs with PTRC's Venson Yumnam (2/32) picking twice but Somobanta and Roneljit Ayekpam resurrected the innings before Daniel and Polenjit (19 not out) completed the chase.
Ngambarel Naoshekpam of PTRC also picked two wickets but failed to affect the course of the game.
Roneljit who top-scored with 79 runs for PTCC was declared man of the match.
Elsewhere at PCC ground, SHADOW posted their second Group B win by beating MPA-Thounaojam by 5 wickets.
MPA who opted to bat first collapsed within 20 overs with just 122 runs on the scoreboard as Sagatpam Lanchenba (4/21), Sagatpam Telheiba (3/33) and Chinglembam Haobam (2/20) ripping apart their line up.
SHADOW then rode on Sagatpam Lanchenba (45) and Sagatpam Telheiba (37), and 22 extras to seal the victory in 19.3 overs despite Ch Priyokumar (2/27) and Suraj Mutum (2/12) of MPA trying to slow things down.
Sagatpam Lanchenba who added 45 runs and grabbed 4 wickets was adjudged man of the match.
