Loktak Battalion joins Moirang Utsav-2023

Imphal, April 15 2023:
Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Moirang Utsav at Moirang in Bishnupur district on Friday during which an Assam Rifles pipe band performed at the INA Museum.
Informing that a total of 58 ex-servicemen with their families from all over the country witnessed the band display and showed tremendous inquisitiveness, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the ex-servicemen including senior officers, JCOs and personnel also enjoyed boating in Loktak Lake.
Interaction of ex-servicemen was also organised with commandant and team of Loktak Battalion wherein operational and geopolitical importance of the place was briefed to them followed by a lunch at COB Sendra.
Apart from ex-servicemen, next of kin of INA soldiers, NCC cadets, students of numerous universities of Manipur, biker group of Dimapur and other political personalities were also present during the event.
All ex-servicemen part-of 'Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Sewa Parishad' headed by Maj Gen (retd) Rajeev Kumar Gupta and other members thanked to entire fraternity of Assam Rifles for organising the historical event of 'Flag hoisting Day' at Moirang, the PRO informed, adding that Moirang Utsav is celebrated every year in Manipur to promote the rich tradition culture of state.
