KCP celebrates 43rd Raising Day

The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) celebrated its 43rd Raising Day on Friday.
According to a KCP statement issued by its member-in-charge of information & publicity S Mangai, the 43rd Raising Day was celebrated at outfit's central head-quarters (CHQ), general headquarters GHQ), training centre, tactical units and other units of the outfit.
The main celebration at 131 Bn headquarters was attended by CO of 1st Bn of KYKL/MYL Dhana as chief guest and G3 of KCP/MFL N Mani as president while KYKL/MYL deputy CO Tamba, KCP/MFL 131 Bn CO in-charge Gulliver, KCP/MFL 131 Bn deputy CO Cuba and KCP/MFL's Saiyon were present as guests of honour.
According to the statement, the celebration began with lighting of ceremonial lamp and unfurling of the party's flag by the chief guest followed by reading out of annual statement of the central committee by Saiyon.
While citing chief guest Dhana's speech at the celebration, the KCP statement said that many youth of Kangleipak both male and female are in self-destructive direction by using contraband drugs and they became victims of drug lords.
Drug lords of Kangleipak have become rich and some of them have even joined politics and administration thereby creating chaos in the society, Dhana said and strongly called for a collective fight to end drug menace and develop a society free from drugs.
The KCP statement while citing Mani's speech at the event recalled the role played by women of Kanglei society for socio-economic development in the past and stressed the need for reviving the erstwhile work culture.
