Astroturf mini stadium inaugurated at Kpi

An Astroturf mini stadium christened 'LHS Arena' was inaugurated at Kangpokpi district headquarters on Wednesday.
The LHS Arena is a unit of Lighthouse School, Kangpokpi.
Sadar Hils ADC Kangpokpi CEO James Doujapao Haokip attended the inaugural ceremony of the 300 seating Capacity Astroturf mini stadium as chief guest while Rev Siehpao Hangshing, Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church, was present as inaugural minister.
The Lighthouse School Kangpokpi is one of the best privately-run government recognised educational institutions in Kangpokpi district headquarters.
It was established by (L) T Misao, the first IPS officer among the Kukis, and his wife Phakim Misao in 2002.James Doujapao Haokip, after formally inaugurating the LHS Arena by cutting a ribbon said that extracurricular activities have become very important in this highly competitive world for the student community.
The MCS officer further said that the Astroturf Mini Stadium will not benefit the student community but also become another asset of the town.
Sehminthang Dennis Misao, secretary of the school, said that the primary beneficiaries of LHS Arena Astroturf mini stadium will be the school children while adding the Astroturf will also benefit the public.
The school secretary continued that sport is also a form of discipline and expressed hope that the Astroturf mini stadium will help students develop self-discipline as well as teamwork skills.
The Astroturf mini stadium is an all-weather 24x7 playing surface certified as FIFA Quality Pro Aqcessories by the world football governing body, FIFA.
It has an Aero X FIFA Pro synthetic surface with 4000W floodlights, a lounge, a premium dressing room, hot and cold showers, and a world-class playing experience.
The Principal of the school, Veijakim Misao while thanking the people who contributed in the successful establishment of the mini stadium, handed out gifts to the guests and donors, and contributors.
Choreography and cultural dance from the school students and alumni, and an exciting football match between school teachers and parents marked the event.
