Assam Rifles conducts security meet

Imphal, April 12 2023:
Sajik Tampak Battalion organised a security meet at Aegijang COB on Wednesday wherein various topics including illegal poppy cultivation, ban on use of urea, recent government policies and advantages of organic farming were discussed.
The interaction was carried out with village chief, secretary and elders, informed a PRO IGAR (S) release, adding that illegal poppy cultivation has been a persistent problem in the region, leading to numerous social and economic issues such as drug addiction, organised crime and environmental degradation.
The security meet aimed to take concerted efforts to address this issue effectively.
The meet was a step towards addressing the issue of illegal poppy cultivation and promoting sustainable agriculture practices in the region.
Village authorities also thanked the assistance provided by Battalion in keeping the AOR safe and for conducting various civic action programmes, added the PRO.
