PTCC continue winning run, Muvanlai prevail

PTCC continued their winning streak as Muvanlai registered their second victory in Wednesday's fixtures of the MNCA Superplate Tournament.
PTCC carved out a thrilling four-run victory against CDCC for their fourth straight win in Group A .
The Patsoi side chose to bat first and set a modest total of 155 after being dismissed in 32.2 overs.
Their innings saw five wickets fall for only 32 runs.
Efforts by Paonam Champion (32), Hijam Hemachandra (25), Andyroshan (22) and G Gomi Sharma (16) helped PTCC reach 155.In reply, CDCC courtesy of their middle order - Kshetrimayum Robert (23), Mutum Jodiba (42) and Ngangom Rajesh (16) - thought they were gradually gaining ground after a top order collapse until the lower order fell prey to the guile of Sadananda Okram.
Priyojit Narengbam (26), who batted at No 2, was other notable contributor for CDCC.
CDCC were all out for 151 in 38.2 overs as Sadananda Okram and Sohail Akram shared seven wickets between them to help PTCC seal a heart-stopping win.
Sadananda claimed wickets for PTCC.
His scalps included Mutum Jodiba (42), Geerish Kangabam (4), Khurshid Alam (4) and Yumnam Sanjoy (0) .
Sohail, on the other hand, removed opener Thounaojam Rakesh for 1 before dismissing Md Ataur Rahaman (0) and Asif (7).Naorem Victor did his bit with two wickets and Shapam Kenjit took one in their triumph.
Earlier, Geerish Kangabam snapped four wickets, T Rakesh picked up three, Jodiba bagged two and Khirsid Alam got one for CDCC.
Sadananda Okram was adjudged the man of the match for his four-wicket haul.
Muvanlai, meanwhile, outplayed UCC by two wickets in a Group B match.
It was the New Lambulane squad's second win from their six games.
Muvanlai bowled out UCC in 29 overs for 112 as Avinash Asmali shone with the ball by racking up five wickets, with Khaikhotinlal Haokip and G Lientinthang Kipgen accounting for two scalps each.
Phurba Sherpa chipped in with one wicket.
For UCC, Thangham Anson (41), Sagolshem Nelson (21) and Leishangthem Bishorjit (20 not out) were the batsmen who got into double figures in their innings.
In their response, Muvanlai took 30 overs to achieve the target with two wickets remaining.
James Athokpam (29), Md Aslam (18), Nandakumar (15), Shibadatta (9), Khaikhotinlal (6 not out), Haolengou Kipgen (8), G Lientinthang (4), Nandakumar (2) and Avinash (1 not out) were the run-getters in their successful chase.
For UCC, Bicky claimed three wickets, Gulson and Bishorjit took two apiece, and Roshan bagged one.
Avinash Asmali, who took five wickets, earned the man of the match title.
