Imphal, April 12 2023:
ESU-Wangkhei Palace Compound rode on Hanjabam Donba's double century and a century from Soibam Venus to crush LCC-Lamsang by 474 runs for their third win on the trot in the ongoing 2nd MNCA Boys Tournament.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first at PCC Ground, Hanjabam Donba dazzled with a 111-ball 229 (30 fours and 12 sixes) and Soibam Venus struck 128 off 56 balls (15 fours and 8 sixes) to guide ESU to a humongous total of 539 runs for 2 in allotted 30 overs.
Akoijam Sangba (4/4 in 2.4 overs) and Soibam Venus (2/0 in 1 over) then led the ESU bowling attack to bowl out LCC for just 65 runs within 13.4 overs.
Soibam Sayonba (38) and Sandham Abhinash (46 not out) also made significant contributions to ESU's tally as Lanleiba Sandham and Raju Mutum of LCC shared a wicket each.

Prithibash Laishram was the highest run getter for LCC in the chase with 13 runs to his name while other batters departed cheaply including five on ducks.
ESU's Thokchom Simesh, Soibam Sayonba, Nandeibam Salaingamba and Leishangthem Robinchandra also chipped in a wicket apiece to set up the colossal victory.
Hanjabam Donba Sharma eventually walked away with the man of the match accolade.
The third straight victory helped ESU remain at the top of the Group A table and are on the brink of making it to the quarter final knock-out stage.
Meanwhile at PTRC Ground, YWC-Langthabal defeated KASC-Khomidok by 1 wicket in a closely contested Group C match.
KASC racked up a paltry total of 95 runs in 15.1 overs after being put in to bat first and YWC-L held their nerves to eclipse the total in 16.5 overs.
For, KASC Mujamin (22) and Mehetab (17) were the main run getters as Daneil Seram (3/23) and Khoisnam Kelvinson (2/32) led the YWC-L batting attack and kept things under control.
In reply, KASC bowlers too made their mark with their aggressive bowling feats and were even in control with Md Sakif Hussain (3/24), Md Ruhal (3/28) and Mehetab (2/32) running riot.
But their meagre total proved costly as YWC-L reached the target courtesy the last wicket stand between Pukhrambam Michael (8) and Seram Bidyachandra (1) .
Daneil Seram had earlier added highest 37 runs for YWC-L and was adjudged man of the match.
