KIYG: Rahul strikes second gold medal in cycling, Bhumeshwory shines in athletics, Anjali bags bronze

Manipur's successful run continued on the fourth day of the 4th Khelo India Youth Games as Huidrom Bhumeshwory Devi won the first medal, that too gold, in athletics for the state while Khwairakpam Rahul Singh claimed his second gold medal in cycling and Khaidem Anjali Devi took bronze in weight-lifting on Tuesday.
Huidrom Bhumeshwory did her state proud by winning the gold medal in the women's 1500m event.
Khwairakpam Rahul continued his peerless form in the cycling competition.
He bagged his second gold medal in the 6-lap Keirin race a day after he won the men's sprint event.
On the other hand, Kh Anjali Devi took the bronze medal in the women's 64kg category to give Manipur their first medal in weightlifting on Tuesday.
She lifted a total of 171 kg (snatch-75kg & clean jerk-96kg) for her medal.
With three more medals on Day 4, Manipur have now collected 17 medals including 12 gold, three silver and two bronze to remain third in medal tally.
Haryana stay atop the medal table with 23 gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze while Maharashtra are in second with 19 gold, 20 silver and 17 bronze medals.
Meanwhile, the state U-18 men's campaign ended with an 8-0 thrashing by Odisha.
Paulus Lakra (4', 43') and Laban Kujur (32', 43') scored a double each, with Ricky Toppo (7'), Rosan Kujur (29'), Deepak Minz (50') and Aryan Xess (51') chipping in with a goal apiece to give their team a big win.
