Parents urged to give proper guidance to children

Development and Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO) arid Nambol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup jointly felicitated Wairokpam Punshiba Singh, who secured 238th rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted Civil Services Examination-2021, during a function held at Nambol Bazar community hall on Tuesday.
Punshiba is the son of W Iboyaima Singh of Nambol Thounaojam.
The function was attended by education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh as chief guest, DPUVO president T Khaba Khuman and SK Women's College, Nambol principal Dr W Robindro Singh as presidents, while DPUVO ad visors Y Nabakishwor Singh, T Ibochou Singh, M Ibohal Singh and Dr Kh,Samungou along with Nambol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup president L Shantibala Devi were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Th Basanta commended W Punshiba (or making the people of Nambol assembly constituency feel proud.
While advising W Punshiba to perform his public duty sincerely, the chief guest opined that if he serves the people dutifully, he may even reach the position of chief secretary of Manipur.
The minister also stressed the need for the parent to make the children aware about Manipuri tradition and culture and themselves showcase to their children exemplarily good conducts.
Basanta also assured to will do his best so that every child in the state have access to proper education and urged all concerned to inform him in case of any deficiency.
Noting that the state has about 7 lakh unemployed youths, the minister further conveyed that the government has taken up various schemes to help generate employment opportunities, while adding that there should be no politics with regard to development works.
On the other hand, W Punshiba stated that the reason behind his success is due to the support of his family, friends and his dedication to study.
If one believes in oneself, he or she can become successful in life, he added.
