Manipur upstage Mizoram by an innings & 36 runs

A Eethal bowling display by the state duo of L Kishan Singh and Bishowrjit helped Manipur outclass Mizoram by an innings and 36 runs inside three days in their Ranji Trophy plate group match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Mizoram who resumed their second innings on 73/9 were at the mercy of Manipur's duo of L Kishan Singh and Bishowrjit who churned out a brilliant bowling performance to make short work of the opposition's batting order.
Mizoram just managed to add 58 runs after being bowled out in 20.2 overs on resumption on Day 3 after their 79/3 (2nd innings) at stumps on Day 2 (Tuesday).
Shreevats Goswami who continued alongside Dika Ralte on Thursday finished with 62 off 71 balls while Dika made 7.Kishan Singh made the most of Day 3 claiming four wickets for Manipur as his fellow Bishworjit, who took two wickets on Day 2, picked up three wickets the next day to end with five scalps.
Jotin Pheiroijam (4/35 & 51*) was adjudged the player of the match.
Earlier, Manipur, who bowled out Mizoram for 104 in 35.4 overs in the latter's first innings, responded with 277 (all out) .
Jotin Pheiroujam was unbeaten on 51 off 129 balls in the first innings.
Priyojit K (49), Ronald M (39), P Prafullomani (34), Rex (25) and Bikash Singh (25) were other key contributors in the innings.
The win propels Manipur to second place in the plate group point table with 14 points from four matches, behind leaders Meghalaya (19 pts from 3 games).
