AR promotes cleanliness, conducts medical camp

Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a cleanliness drive in border village of Z Khunou in Churachandpur district on Wednesday during which an interactive session on clean and healthy environment' was conducted followed by a comprehensive cleanliness session as part of the drive.
A total of 20 soldiers and 8 civilians took part in the drive.
Meanwhile, under Operation Sadbhavna, Sehlon Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted medical camp at Phaiphenkot and Theijam villages of Chandel district on Wednesday and Thursday to reach out to the local population with a helping hand and assist them with humanitarian aid.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the villagers have no access to basic healthcare services owing to its remoteness and poor state of infrastructure and lines of communication.
During the medical camp, suitable medical advice and medicines were provided to the patients by a medical team of one doctor and six paramedics of Sehlon battalion.
The medical team also informed the gathering about the var ious lifestyle diseases and importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle to avoid such diseases.
They also imparted necessary advice about importance of hygiene & Sanitation and good practices to be followed for prevention of COVID, said the PRO in a release, adding that total of 278 villagers benefitted from the medical camp.
The villagers of Phaiphenkot, Theijam and nearby villages also promised to extend their full support to Assam Rifles in combating nefar ious activities of insurgents in the area.
