AUFA organises farmers' programme

Imphal, January 05 2023:
Arapti Urup Farmers Association (AUFA) organised a farmers' programme at Arapti Mayangbung Loukon today to welcome the new year 2023 on a good note.
Winter crops seeds were also sown in the Loukon as a part of the programme.
Social Welfare Joint Director Bantee Singh Konthoujam; Extension Officer, District Agriculture Office Imphal East, Thoudam Bhupendra; AUFA Chairman Konthoujam Ibotombi and president Th Parijat attended the programme as the presidium members.
Presenting the keynote address, AUFA secretary Soibam Maniton said that Urup and Arapti are among those villages in the State which produce green leafy vegetables in abundance.

He also highlighted that with an aim to make the paddy fields of these villages green throughout the year to produce adequate quantities of produce and to achieve the vision of a self-reliant Manipur in terms of food, AUFA was established in 2018.In line with the above objectives, the farmers' body has been organising seed sowing programmes since the past few years, he added.
With the initiation of seed sowing programme this year, winter crops seeds were distributed to the farmers of AUFA.
