Imphal, August 19 2022:
UPSA, Pukhio fought back twice to salvage a 2-2 draw with Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) as ESU, Wangkhei played out a goalless draw with KRYPHSA, Naoremtheng on Day 2 of the 13th AMFA Senior Women's Football League Tournament.
In the second match of the 7-team tournament organised by the All Manipur Football Association at Lamlong Thongkhong's Artificial Turf Ground, KRYPHSA and ESU were evenly poised the game throughout but lack of finesse forced the game to end barren.
Meanwhile in the third game and today's second, Thangjam Keinakumari's double went in vain as MPSC conceded lead twice with relentless UPSA fighting back bravely to earn a point.
Keinakumari scored the opener as early as three minutes into the game only to be equalised by Asem Roja of the Naoremtheng team in the 24th minute.
Keinakumari was on the target yet again in the 42nd minute to help MPSC regain the lead before the break but UPSA clawed back after 66th minute when Lhingneilam Kipgen dodged past a few MPSC defenders to slot home the equaliser.
It was an end to end affair after the equaliser but efforts from both the sides either went wide or got parried away by the custodians.
The next matches of the tournament, which is also the qualifying round for the upcoming Indian Women's League are scheduled on August 22 .
KRYPHSA will be playing YWC-Langthabal in the fourth match from 1.30 pm on the said date before UPSA take on YWC-Thambalkhong from 3.15 pm onwards.
