10th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament : YWC beat YCC by 5 wickets to consolidate Gp A pole position

YWC-Langthabal defeated YCC-Wangkhei by 5 wickets for the fourth win in five matches and to climb atop Group A table in the 10th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament.
CYCLONE-Thangmeiband and YPHU-Lalambung are still in the contention for the pole position and semi-final berts from the group having won thrice and still left a match each to play.
YCC won the toss and opted to bat first.
Despite having 6 wickets to spare, YCC posted a modest total of 124 runs in alloted 20 overs with Danny making the highest 44 runs off 37 deliveries.
YWC however rode on Manaobi's half century (52 off 44 balls) to chase down the target in 19 overs with 5 wickets left in hand.
S Shantikumar (33), K Swami (17), A Bishorjit (12) and Y Robinchandra (11) managed double digit scores for YCC in their innings which saw L Tejkumar of YWC-L picking up two wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs and L Manaobi claim one.

In the chase, L Samananda (27) and G Gonjendro (17) made significant contributions to help the team post their fourth win.
G Sanjit, A Rakesh, S Shantikumar and L Everest of YCC claimed a wicket each in this innings.
L Manaoba of YWC who hit a half century and claimed a wicket was adjudged man of the match.
In another Group A match staged earlier in the day, CHAMP-Khagempalli sealed their second win by beating UCC-Uripok by 4 wickets.
UCC posted a lowly total of 106 runs for 9 wickets after electing to bat first and CHAMP eased to winning 107 runs at the cost of 6 wickets with two overs left to play.
S Jacky who scored 19 runs was the highest run getter for the Uripok team followed by Th Suresh (13) and A Rajee (10) in their innings which got throttled as CHAMP's Sanjoy (3/14) and H Babloo (2/12) combined well to keep things tight.
T Gopal, Lal HK and Narjit of CHAMP also picked up a wicket each.
In reply, U Robinson (24) and Babloo (36) set up the initial momentum before Mahesh (3) and Narjit (12) steered the team to the victory.
A Rajee of UCC enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/26) and S Jacky (2/10) picked up two wickets but their efforts went in vain as their total proved too small for CHAMP.
H Babloo of CHAMP who produced an all round performance was adjudged man of the match.
