Governor pays tribute to Pandit Deendayal

Governor La Ganesan paid tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on the latter's 55th Martyr's Day.
In a message, the Governor remembered ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya as the great soul of India and said that the nation is being run on strong principles that were advocated by the Pandit throughout his life.
Deendayal Upadhyaya never worked to gain popularity or to be elected as an MP or MLA but dedicated self for the welfare of the nation and lived his life in simplicity, the Governor said.
Born on September 15, 1916 in Uttar Pradesh, Deendayal Upadhyaya believed in self-reliant economy with the village as the base, the Governor recalled, while describing Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya as one of the most distinguished Nationalist Political thinkers of modern India.
Upadhyaya considered that it was of utmost importance for India to develop an indigenous economic model with a human being at centre stage, the Governor added.
