MSCB donates medical equipment

Thoubal, February 10 2023:
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility CSR), Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) Limited donated medical equipment worth around Rs 3.75 lakh to the Ophthalmology Department of Thoubal District Hospital on Friday.
MSCB managing director Bidyarani Ayekpam handed over the equipment which included A-scan, Slit lamp and Tonometer, to Health and Family Welfare minister Dr Sapam Ranjan, in a simple function organised by District Health Society, Thoubal at the conference hall of the District Hospital.
Speaking as the chief guest, minister Dr Ranjan appreciated the gesture of MSCB and expressed that the equipment would greatly benefit the Ophthalmology Department of the Hospital in particular and people of the district in general.
He then urged those working in the health sector to provide quality service to the people as much as possible.
In her address, Bidyarani Ayekpam informed that the bank donated the equipment after being intimated by Thoubal Deputy Commissioner of shortage of some equipment in the Ophthalmology Department of the hospital.
Delivering the key note speech, DC (Thoubal) Ahanthem Subhash said that it is not fixed in stone that the government alone must mend the gaps in development.
As such, a request was made to all the banks in the district for extending assistance under their respective CSRs, following which MSCB donated the equipment, while other banks in process.
The function was also attended by State Health Mission director Dr Somorjit, CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul, and Thoubal District Hospital MS Dr W Ruhini among others.
