Superplate: ESU notch up 4-wkt win as TCMDC edge past RCA by 2 runs

ESU beat YUCC by four wickets to top Group B as TCMDC carved out a two-run victory against RCA in the MNCA Superplate Tournament on Monday.
ESU chased down a 217-run target set by YUCC in their Group B match.
The Wangkhei side knocked off the runs in 37.4 overs for the loss of six wickets.
M Bimananda played a vital role in their successful run chase scoring 72 off 61 balls.
His knock was supplemented by contributions from Sanatomba (41), Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (27), Sanglakpam Rabikanta (27), Chongtham Mehul Shreth (12), Thokchom Nishikanta (7), Longjam Herojit (6) and Oliver Keit (1 not out) .
In the process, ESU lost a wicket each to Rahulkumar, Kadamjit and Shyam while their three other batters were run out.
Earlier, YUCC opted to bat and were dismissed for 216.Their main contributions in the innings were Sanjit (63), Thoiba (34) and W Lenin (33) .
For ESU, Mehul finished with three scalps, Chitaranjan Sharma and Nishikanta claimed two each, and Hemchand Yumkham and Naoba Sharma took one apiece.
M Bimananda walked away with the man of the match trophy.
In the day's Group A match, TCMDC rode on a fine bowling performance to grind out a two-run win over RCA.
Put in to bat, TCMDC were bowled out for 174 in 33.5 overs as efforts by Kalyan Sharma (52), Sarangthem Priyobrata (19), Laishram Vivekananda (17), Ashokumar Maibam (17) and Rain Urikhimbam (13) helped their side cross 170.In the process, three each of TCMDC's wickets fell to Naesh Hussain and Syed Hussain, two to Aziz Mirza and one to BM Sabakhan.
In reply, RCA fell short by a whisker after being stopped in 33.5 overs for 172.Fighting efforts by Aziz Mirza (47) and Syed Hussain (44) went in vain.
For TCMDC, Suraj Kharib-am shone with the ball racking up.
four wickets while Thongam Tuljit impressed with three scalps, with Kalyan, Babulu and Vevekananda accounting for one wicket each in their memorable victory.
Suraj Kharibam was adjudged the man of the match.
