Imphal, April 18 2023:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has expressed their continued support to the agitation of college students against the alleged increase in examination fees of BA/BSc/BCom 2nd, 4th and 6th semester exams of colleges affiliated with Manipur University.
In a statement, the student body condemned the MU authority who have remained silent on the matter instead of working collectively to bring about an amicable resolution.
The student community has refrained from launching agitation in view of the NAAC Peer Team's MU visit.
However, the MU authority has taken advantage of this and continued to remain silent on the subject, KSA accused in their statement.
It added that if this silence continues, then it could prove detrimental to the academic atmosphere at the respective colleges and cause the students to dissolve into a state of anxiety.
KSA also pointed out that before this matter could be resolved, some colleges have already fixed April 20/21 as the last date for submission of examination forms and examination fees, contrary to the date set by MU, which is April 26 .
KSA has maintained that this last date cannot be enforced adding that many students are unable to pay the allegedly excessive examination fees and respective principals of the colleges and Controller of Examination of MU must be held accountable for the consequences.
As such, KSA has appealed to MU authority to resolve this issue at the earliest.
