2nd Manipur State Invitation Boxing C'ship : Neeraj, Mangansana to face off for junior boys' 55 kg category title

Imphal, October 08 2021: Neeraj Nongmaithem of LRBA and Laishram Mangansana of NBA will fight it out for the title of junior boys' 55 kg category (2007-08) in the ongoing 2nd Manipur State Invitation Boxing Championships 2021 .

Neeraj boxed his way to the final today by beating Yumlembam Rohit of AUS while L Mangansa defeated Naorem Benson of ABA in another semi-final bout to complete the final line up.

PBA's Jayraj Yengkhom and Jijam Mocha of KBA on the other hand will meet in the sub-junior boy's 58 kg category final as they defeated Wakambam Inao of LRBA and Paringanba Ningthoujam of KBAA respectively in the semi-final bouts.

Earlier, Ngamba Longjam of ASM also made his way into the final of the sub-junior boys' 52 kg category after edging out IIS's L Malemnganba in a semi-final bout.

Thongam Nilbir Singh of IND also made it to the final of the 49 kg category today.

Junior Boys
The final line up various weight categories of junior boys' age groups.

Md Mujahid of SRBA who defeated Jabet Aribam of TBA will meet Hidrom Rishi Mangang of IND for the 46 kg category title while MKBA's Amarjit Takhellambam will take on Huidrom Lanthou of TBA in the 48 kg category final.

Facing off for the 50 kg title are Meinam Khristino Renish of UBA who beat Thokchom Bishwamitra of IVRBS and Shagolshem Rockey of NBA who saw off MKBA's Langamba Khangenbam today in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Irungbam Malemnganba of MKBA secured a 5-0 convincing win against Thokchom Lenjaoba Singh of IND to cruise into the 52 kg category final.

He will meet Yumkhaibam Armond of NBA who outlasted Takhellambam Khambaton of IVRBS 4-1 in the other semi-final bout staged today.

Thokchom Amitkumar of IVRBS who won 4-1 over Md Ajim of SRBA also set up the 54 kg category final date with Ngariyanbam Jupiter of TBA who thumped Mongjam Radison of KB A 5-0 earlier in the first semifinal match.

Henary Yengkhom of AUS and Thokchom Dhananjoy of NBA; Sinam Allar of TBA and Konjengbam Roshan Singh of AAYCA ; Loitongbam Robert of KBA and Chinglemba Moirangthem of MKBA also will face each other for the title of 57 kg, 60 kg and 63 kg categories respectively.

Leimapokpam Rahul of AUS also entered the 75 kg category final beating Thangjam Luckyboy of IND in a semi-final match today.

Sub-Junior Girls
Irengbam Somiya of UBA (43 kg -2009), Thounaojam Anjalina Devi of NBA (43 kg-2009), Ngangom Luxmi of ABA (43 kg 2007-08), Ayekpam Ajita of IND (46 kg 2007-08), Ningthoujam Anjali of ASM (49 kg- 2007-08), Luxmi Nongthombam of ABA (49 kg: 2007-08), Indika Thiyam of IVRBS (52 kg: 2007-08), Khumanthem Sinthoi of NBA (52 kg: 2007-08), Yumnam Rakhi of SRBA (55 kg : 2007-08), Joyshree Chirom of IIS (58 kg : 2007-08) and Puyaluxmi Khundrakpam of PBA (59 kg) also entered finals of their respective weight categories.

Junior Girls
Thiyam Apsara Devi of IND (46 kg) and Elangbam Thoicha devi of KBAA (46kg); Mangsatabam Darvina of RISBA (48 kg) and Ksh Zeena of IND (48 kg); Moirangthem Luxmi of AUS (50 kg) and Thokchom Tanu of IVRBS (50 kg); Supriya Thokchom of TBA and Ahongsangbam Kajal of AUS (57 kg) will also face off for the title clash in their respective weight categories.

Ningthoujam Manda Chanu of IVRBS (52 kg) and Thoudam Prameshwori of TBA (54) also secured their final berths today.
