Imphal, October 08 2021:
BJP State unit president A Sharda Devi has categorically stated that all the previous Governments in Manipur that destroyed the State have been tested by the people.
Addressing an office inauguration ceremony of BJP Thongju Mandal at Khongman Okram Chuthek as chief guest, A Sharda Devi claimed that there was no development in the State during the 15 years rule of the Congress Government.
She also asked what the Congress has done for Manipur recently.
"The Congress claimed that most of the projects BJP inaugurated were implemented by them, but the question is why the projects were left incomplete in the first place when they had ruled the State for three consecutive terms," she asked.
A Sharda also stated that the Congress blaming the saffron party for the State losing its territory is illogical as the BJP Government is new.
Who is responsible for the State losing Kabaw Valley and Hollenphai, BJP or Congress? she asked.
Saying that the BJP Government is stable due to its value based approach, Sharda asserted that it is the saffron party that implemented Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in the State.
She further stated that the Congress taking credit for the transfer of Kangla Fort to the people from Assam Rifles is false as it was the outcome of the nude protest carried out by the women of Manipur who protested the excesses of security forces.
Sharda also maintained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the people during the peak of Covid pandemic by giving free ration and frequent interaction with the Chief Ministers.
Praising Works Minister Thongam Biswajit as a dynamic leader, she said that the people of Thongju electing Biswajit as their representative is the right decision.
The special guest of the function, Th Biswajit stated that Congress party making unfounded claims during the time of elections will not bear fruits as people still remember vividly the frequent bandhs, blockades imposed in the State and the long queue in front of petrol pumps.
The Minister also expressed his desire to make Thongju a model Assembly Constituency.
Saying that he had done half of what he aspires to do for his AC, the Minister stated that he is planning to implement a project to make Thongju economically vibrant.
BJP National spokesperson, Dr Sambit Patra, on the other hand, stated that the BJP will win at the lowest 30 seats in the forthcoming Assembly election.
